Poker After Dark Moves to Golden Nugget

Poker After Dark is one of the most popular poker shows on television. Until now it has been filmed at the South Point Casino, but recent negotiations have found the show a new home at the Golden Nugget’s new center “The Grand”. They have agreed to do 60 episodes of the show there, and will feature some of the game’s most talented and entertaining players, battling each other for the $100,000 winner-take-all first prize. They will also offer different creative playing formats this season.

“The Golden Nugget is thrilled to host the fifth season of NBC’s exciting, late-night poker program, Poker After Dark. The Golden Nugget has been home to several big poker productions, as well as hosted many poker tournaments and events, so bringing a top-rated program like Poker After Dark to the property just seemed like a natural fit,” said Brett Kellerman, The Golden Nugget’s chief operating officer.

Airlines Go All-In for Poker

Last week Continental Airlines held its OnePass 21st Birthday Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The tournament included customers that had outstanding benefits from frequent flier miles. Bill Shiver took home the grand prize of 21 million frequent flier miles, which he’ll be able to use for numerous trips around the world. He plans on taking friends to Italy, and on a Mediterranean cruise.

“It was a wonderful experience,” said Shiver, “I didn’t talk to anyone — win or lose — who didn’t have a great time. I feel very fortunate and really lucky to be the winner.”

The tournament had 243 entrants, with the top 40 receiving prizes and frequent flier miles. The second-place finisher, David Michaels, received one million OnePass miles. Total prizes added up to 25 million OnePass miles, with the top 40 getting at least 50,000 of them.

WSOP: Is Time Off from Final Table Play Good?

The time off for the final nine of the WSOP main event is the best thing that could have happened to them. It guarantees that each one of them will be able to make big dollars wearing advertiser’s logos; they have so much time to negotiate. Prior to this idea they only had a few hours to try and cash in.

This way they all get to become famous within the poker world. They all should be able to pick up a sponsorship that will allow them to play into the future for free, not to mention any other endorsement deals they may be able to secure.

You know that the ESPN coverage of the final table will be better than it has ever been before. They’ve had so much more time to set up interviews and player profiles, you just know it’s going to be great.
